Alcon (China) Ophthalmic Product Co., Ltd., or Alcon China, was established in 1990 to manufacture ophthalmic surgical equipment and supplies as well as to sell ophthalmic pharmaceutical products. The facility occupies 43,333 square feet where over 250 Alcon employees dedicate themselves to manufacturing the highest quality intraocular lenses (IOLs) and sutures.
Alcon China is dedicated to social responsibility as it partners with charitable organizations such as China Disabled Association and Life Express. As well, Alcon China works towards blindness prevention by donating surgical disposables, instruments and eye drops. Internationally, Alcon China assists ORBIS, GANSU, INC, (Gaining a New Sight for Unseeing in China) and the Heart to Heart organizations. They assist the organizations with treatments for eye diseases in impoverished areas and training programs for hospitals in rural areas.
