Alcon Pharma GmbH, or Alcon Germany, was established in 1973 with an office and warehouse, which when combined, total 1,126 sq. m. (13,200 square feet). Here, 240 Alcon Germany employees dedicate themselves to selling and marketing a full range of ophthalmic surgical supplies and equipment, pharmaceuticals and consumer vision care products.
Alcon Germany also provides customer services that include technical service, customer training and education. Quality management seminars, wet labs, office management and practice development seminars, training and analysis on EBM 2000, as well as communications training for practice personnel are all part of the service provided by Alcon Germany.
WaveLight AG
In July 2007, Alcon announced plans to acquire Wavelight AG, Manufacturer of the ALLEGRETTO® laser system. Currently Alcon owns 77% of the German company.
