By investing in our associates' development and training, we are investing in the future – thus Alcon has continually increased training resources, most recently broadening our Global Learning and Development function. This recently expanded group demonstrates Alcon's commitment to associate development and works to align training initiatives with Alcon business objectives and associate performance. The goal is to ensure that we meet future challenges as Alcon grows and expands by helping associates develop and grow.
It Starts with Good Training
Members of our global sales force do more than sell products; they help physicians provide a better level of care for their patients. They do this by establishing a relationship that allows them to inquire, advise and instruct – setting the stage for a collaborative exchange that can provide excellent results for physician, patient and salesperson. But first, the salesperson must go through a three-level process of instruction and mentoring. From ophthalmology basics to operative techniques, a candidate must master each training level before proceeding further in the process. As a result our salespeople often find themselves accompanying physicians into the operating room as consultants to effectively demonstrate the use of the product, train the physician on the use of equipment, or share the latest techniques – something that many doctors appreciate as the Alcon difference.
