Spotlight: Serving the Needs of Surgeons
Case in point is Alcon's development of the DisCoVisc® Ophthalmic Viscosurgical Device. This is the first and only viscous dispersive viscoelastic which combines the best qualities of dispersive and cohesive viscoelastics in one convenient syringe.
DisCoVisc® provides physicians with the properties and attributes they require during all stages of cataract surgery – offering superior clarity and low elasticity during capsulorhexis, superior retention rates and space maintenance during lens removal, high compatibility in delivery systems during IOL insertion and ease of removal at the end of the procedure. Ultimately, Alcon was able to create a new, unique product that offered multiple benefits by understanding what surgeons are looking for in an ophthalmic viscosurgical device.
