As such, we reach far beyond our walls and invite other scientists, physicians, academic institutions and other pharmaceutical companies to join us in our efforts.
A large part of our success stems from key relationships with more than 35 leading academic facilities worldwide, where our scientists work closely with researchers at each of these institutions. These trusted, established relationships help us yield best-in-class results.
We also make it a point to work closely together internally to ensure safe, efficient product delivery. The integration of our regulatory affairs staff and research and development departments, together with our regulatory expertise, enables us to reduce the time required to bring new products to market around the world.

Converting Discoveries into Viable Products
Research and development, as the name denotes, consists of two phases: research, which includes our own discoveries as well as compounds and technologies sent to us from around the world; and development, where ideas are transformed into safe and viable surgical, pharmaceutical and consumer vision care products. We test a vast number of compounds annually and also pursue varied licenses for compounds that have potential eye care uses and test their efficacy more quickly.
