When will you hear from us after application submission?
University recruitment is an ongoing process. While you may hear from us at any time, Summer Internship applicants selected to move forward are typically contacted by a recruiter or hiring manager anytime between February and the end of May.
If you are not selected to move forward with interviews, you will receive an automated email notification.
Are Internships/Co-ops paid?
Yes, we offer competitive pay for all internships and co-op positions.
Does Alcon sponsor International Students?
Yes, we have the ability to sponsor international students based on business need.
What is the typical duration of an Intern Assignment?
The Internship Program typically runs for 10-12 weeks throughout the summer months (late May- early August). Off-cycle internship and co-ops are occasionally offered during the Fall and Spring as well.

What can be expected in terms of transportation to and from work?
It is a business expectation that all interns provide their own transportation to and from work.
What is the difference between an internship and a co-op?
Internships are temporary positions which may be part-time or full-time. A co-op is a full-time position for a defined period of time (usually four or six months). Students typically earn course credit for co-ops.
Does Alcon offer internship or co-ops at all locations?
We offer internship and/or co-op opportunities in nearly every US location; however, opportunities are based on business needs and change according to location and time frame.
Does an internship/co-op at Alcon mean I will have a full time job at the time of my graduations?
It is not a guarantee that your internship will turn into a full time role however we have had a number of interns convert into full time employees at some of our Alcon campuses. This may vary based on business need.
Does Alcon provide housing assistance?
Housing assistance is determined by the business. The University Relations team can provide guidance and recommendations for housing accommodations surrounding the respective US site location.
As an Alcon intern, will I be an Alcon employee?
Alcon’s Summer Internship and Co-Op Programs are jointly managed by Alcon and PRO Unlimited. This partnership continues our long standing collaboration by providing Alcon’s Summer Interns and Co-Op Students real-world experience by discovering new ways to enhance sight and improve people’s lives. As an Alcon Intern or Co-Op you will be employed by PRO Unlimited.
