BOSTON, June 29, 2016 – Alcon, a Novartis division, and the global leader in eye care, will preview DAILIES TOTAL1® Multifocal contact lenses, the first and only water gradient technology for patients with presbyopia, a condition that affects an estimated 84 million people in the United States1, at this year’s Optometry’s Meeting®. Attendees have the opportunity to learn about the technology in Alcon’s booth (#729), and can also learn more from S. Barry Eiden, OD, who will introduce this innovation at an Alcon-sponsored educational event to be held on Friday, July 1.

Also on display will be Alcon’s commitment to partnerships with patients, practitioners, students and organizations. Visitors can interact with a patient-focused, free, e-book called Howard and the Amazing Eye Exam to encourage parents and children to learn about comprehensive eye exams, and learn more about our partnership with Think About Your Eyes, a national campaign to promote the importance of eye health.

Data Presentation

Alcon will present one poster on Saturday, July 2, demonstrating that Alcon’s CLEAR CARE PLUS Cleaning and Disinfection Solution leaves less residual peroxide on contact lenses than a competitive product, when both are soaked for their respective recommended times.

Residual peroxide levels after neutralization of two marketed one-step hydrogen peroxide systems (J. Lemp, A. Shows, H. Chen; July 2, 2016;

The poster was named one of the top five submissions to AOA, and primary author Jessie Lemp will participate in a rapid-fire, interactive education session, alongside other top-five presentation authors, on Saturday, July 2 from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. The poster will also be featured in AOA Focus.
