Tokyo, Japan, October 1, 2014– Alcon, the global leader in eye care has appointed long-time Alcon leader Jim Murphy as the new President of Alcon Japan, replacing Seiichiro Matsumura, who has left Alcon. The company thanks Matsumura-san for his service and wishes him the best for the future.
“Japan is a critically important strategic market to Alcon and I am confident that with his deep experience across all three Alcon franchises over twenty years, Jim Murphy is the right leader to accelerate Alcon’s growth in Japan,” said Jeff George, Global Head of Alcon. “In addition to having on-the-ground experience in Asia, Jim is a very strong people leader with a deep connection to our customers, patients, and innovation.”
