Good Eye Health Begins With Good Vision Care
At the heart of our business is a dedication to our mission of enhancing quality of life by helping people see better. We believe that fulfilling our mission means reaching out globally to those in need, but also to communities where we live and work, volunteering our time and investing in efforts that give people access to vital vision care.
As many as one in four children in the U.S. have an uncorrected vision problem. Educating them on the need for proper eye care — such as scheduling regular eye exams — is an integral part in improving our communities' eye health.
Did You Know?
One in four American children has an uncorrected vision issue. That number can climb much higher in inner-city communities.
More than 10 million children suffer from vision problems that may cause them to fail in school.
Prisons forecast the beds they will need in 10 years based on current third grade reading levels.
As many as three out of four juvenile offenders have undetected or uncorrected vision issues.

On Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, The Alcon Foundation hosted in partnership with the Essilor Vision Foundation, the Kids Vision for Life Coalition, and other local partners, the second annual Kids Vision Fest for Fort Worth children ages 5 to 12.
During this event, more than 900 children received free eye screenings, of which nearly 800 received free comprehensive eye exams. The day’s highlight was watching the nearly 700 children, who received free eyeglasses and selected the frames that best met their individual fashion style. Knowing that those eyeglasses will make a huge difference in those children’s lives is something that we are very proud of.
It’s heartwarming to see the smiles on children’s faces when they finally can see the world more clearly.
