    Exceeded our 2025 Goals

     

    Improved vision and enhanced academic success by providing more than 157,000 vision screenings to children and ensured comprehensive care for those in need.


    Improved vision for more than 5 million people afflicted with untreated cataracts in low,- and middle-income countries, including 1 million considered cataract-blind.

    By 2030 Goals

     

    Become carbon neutral across global operations (Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions).

    Divert 100% of non-hazardous waste generated at manufacturing sites and distribution centers from landfill.

    2025 Progress

     

    Helped improve vision for more than 1.6 million individuals through the work of Alcon Cares, the Alcon Foundation and the Phaco Development (PD) and Vitreoretinal Development (VRD) programs.

    Conducted vision screenings for more than 32,000 children and worked with eye care professionals to provide comprehensive care for those in need.

    Reduced Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission by 2.33% compared to 2024.

    Achieved a diversion rate of more than 99% for our MTO sites.

     

    Achieving our 2025 goals reflects our steadfast commitment to removing barriers to eye care and the transformative power of partnership. For 2030, we’ll continue our work to expand children's screenings and sharpen our focus on surgeon development in underserved communities. These investments can create lasting impacts for millions of people for years to come.

    Introducing our NEW 2030 Social Impact Goals

     

    By 2030 Goals

     

    Provide 200,000 vision screenings to children by Alcon associates and partners through a program that also supports comprehensive follow-up care to those in need.


    Deliver comprehensive clinical professional development through Alcon’s surgical development programs* to at least 3,000 ophthalmic surgeons, enabling them to provide critical eye care services in developing economies.**


    *Based on enrollment in, but not limited to, the Alcon Phaco Development Program and the Alcon Vitreoretinal Development (VRD) Program.
