U.S. Co-Ops
Alcon’s paid Co-Op program offers an exceptional opportunity for talented students to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing during the spring, summer, or fall semesters. As a manufacturing Co-Op, you’ll have the chance to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects, work alongside industry professionals, and make lasting contributions to our operations.
Innovate Boldly R&D Externship
Every August, our 4-day on-site externship development event In Fort Worth, Texas gives 30 rising sophomores the opportunity to gain valuable professional development, learn more about our R&D function and future co-op/internship opportunities at Alcon. Come unleash your full potential and see your future like never before!
The purpose of this externship is to provide a developmental experience for those who are selected, by providing opportunities to:
- Participate in hands-on leadership development workshops
- Enhance technical skills
- Learn more about Alcon’s R&D function
- Network with Employee Resource Group (ERG) members
- Complete a team case study
- Guaranteed interview for a summer Internship for the following year
Early Career and Rotational Programs
Commercial Leadership Development Program
The Commercial Leadership Development Program (CLDP) is Alcon's rotational program for MBA Interns interested in learning the Surgical and Vision Care areas of the business. Exceptional individuals chosen for this highly selective and challenging program engage in tailored rotational experiences relevant to a commercial leadership career path. CLDP associates will engage in three, year-long rotations where they will learn Commercial Operations, Marketing and Sales.
Envision, R&D Rotational Program
Envision is Alcon’s R&D rotational program for Alcon Interns and Co-Ops who will be graduating in the following year. After graduation, Envision associates will have the chance to make a real-world impact by working on projects that will help patients and customers see brilliantly. Alcon offers personal and professional development, coaching, and mentoring opportunities. As an Envision rotational program member, you will engage in three, year-long rotations in different positions based on the selected tracks, which include Mechanical Engineering, Data Analytics, and Chemistry.
Human Resources Leadership Development Program
HRLDP is a key pipeline for graduate degree-level individuals with ambition to advance into Human Resources (HR) leadership positions. Exceptional candidates chosen for this highly selective and challenging program will engage in tailored rotational experiences relevant to an HR career path. Members will engage in three, year-long rotations serving two rotations as an HR Business Partner and one rotation in a Center of Excellence (CoE). CoEs at Alcon are teams whose mission is to provide best practice services around a particular area of technology or capability.
Supply Chain Leadership Development Program
The Supply Chain Leadership Development Program (SCLDP) is Alcon's rotational program for graduating students who aspire to become future supply chain leaders. Over three years, participants gain hands-on experience across key supply chain functions, including Planning & Analytics, Warehouse & Distribution, Logistics & Freight Management, and Operations. Through diverse rotational assignments, associates build business acumen, leadership capabilities, and end-to-end supply chain expertise while contributing to initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation, and performance across Alcon's global supply chain.
RADAR - Manufacturing, Technical Operations and Quality Rotational Program
RADAR is Alcon's leadership development rotation program for high-performing professionals aspiring to senior leadership roles in Manufacturing, Technical Operations and Quality. Through strategic rotations over four to five years, participants gain broad business exposure, increasing leadership responsibility, and experience across manufacturing operations, quality, advanced technologies, and regulated environments. Along the way, participants lead high-impact initiatives, receive executive mentorship, and build strong leadership networks. RADAR accelerates growth, develops enterprise perspective, and prepares future leaders to drive innovation, operational excellence, and business impact across Alcon.
Young Professionals Employee Resource Group
Discover Your Purpose
Alcon’s Young Professionals (YP) Employee Resource Group was founded to build a strong community for associates new to the corporate environment. YP offers opportunities for connection, development, and engagement through networking events, leadership Q&As, social gatherings, and professional workshops. The group helps early-career associates navigate Alcon’s culture, build lasting relationships, and grow their skills — making Alcon a more inclusive and energizing place to launch a career.
