Building More Than Homes: How Alcon and Habitat for Humanity Are Strengthening Communities Through Alcon in Action

A Partnership Built Over 26 Years
Alcon associates have worked with Trinity Habitat for Humanity to expand opportunities for affordable homeownership in Fort Worth since 2000. In 2026, the partnership marks its 26th year, during which associates have helped build 33 homes and the Alcon Foundation has contributed more than $2.2 million in grants. What began as a local volunteer effort has transformed into one of Alcon’s longest-standing community partnerships, rooted in shared values, sustained collaboration and a commitment to helping families build brighter futures.
Those efforts have helped create more than houses. A home represents more than four walls and a roof. It provides families with the stability, security, and opportunity needed to support a stronger future for generations to come. Through the collective dedication of Alcon volunteers and local organizations working side by side, the vision continues to become a reality.
The partnership’s next chapter is taking shape at Garden Springs, Trinity Habitat’s newest neighborhood development in South Fort Worth. Designed to provide 91 attainable homes, the community represents a long-term investment in helping families establish roots near schools, local resources and employment opportunities. Alcon helped build the first three homes in Garden Springs, continuing the tradition that has defined the partnership for more than two decades.
The importance of this partnership came to life during Alcon in Action 2026, when Alcon associates joined Trinity Habitat volunteers to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new home for Habitat partner Rhonda Anthony and her family in the Garden Springs development. Surrounded by volunteers and community leaders, the ceremony marked the beginning of an exciting journey, as Rhonda and her family prepare to work alongside volunteers to help build their future home. The event served as a powerful reminder that every home built represents new opportunities, stability, and hope for the families who will live there.

Local Service with Global Impact
While Fort Worth represents Alcon’s longest-standing Habitat for Humanity partnership, it also reflects Alcon’s broader commitment to community impact around the world. Through Alcon in Action, the company’s annual global day of volunteering, associates dedicate their time to supporting sustainable communities through service.
On May 14, 2026, Alcon mobilized 5,187 associates across 72 sites in 32 countries, who contributed 16,468 volunteer hours. Projects supported vision care, education, environmental sustainability and housing. Alcon associates took part in 26 housing projects worldwide, including Habitat for Humanity builds in Fort Worth, Johns Creek, Belmont and Durham in the United States, and Mississauga, Canada.
Together, these projects demonstrate how local partnerships can inspire global impact.
The Next Chapter at Garden Springs
At Garden Springs, every effort represents more than a home under construction. It represents the promise of homeownership for many families to build a better life. It represents stability for a family, opportunity for future generations, and the promise of a stronger community.
