As part of this, we are proud to announce that Alcon achieved a 100% score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s (HRC) 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI). In achieving a perfect score, the HRC has designated Alcon to be among the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality in the U.S.

For 20 years, the HRC’s survey has been the nation’s foremost benchmarking report measuring corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) workplace equality. The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria, including non-discrimination policies, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture, and corporate social responsibility.

Since first listing in 2020, Alcon has shown continuous year-over-year improvement in our ranking, first receiving a score of 90, then of 95 and now recognized in the third year with a perfect score of 100. This honor is attributable to collaborative efforts led by Alcon’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group, the Open Professional Employee Network (OPEN), with the support of the Alcon executive leadership team, as well as the company’s chief diversity and inclusion officer, HR and Benefits teams and many others.

The HRC’s designation of Alcon being among the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality comes on the heels of an array of acknowledgments Alcon has recently received, including Top Employer 2022 certification in Brazil, France, Poland, Russia, Spain and Switzerland, Best Place to Work 2021 certification in the U.S. and Malaysia, Ireland, and Top Employer 2021 certification in Europe, among others.
