VisionX is Alcon’s global open innovation challenge designed to identify breakthrough technologies beyond the boundaries of traditional ophthalmology and translate them into future solutions for eye care. Designed to fuel bold innovation, VisionX seeks ideas from fields such as artificial intelligence, photonics, robotics, materials science, advanced manufacturing and computational imaging, and connect them to some of the most important challenges in the industry today.

Grounded in the belief that the next major leap in eye care may come from outside the field, VisionX invites scientists, research teams, entrepreneurs, and technology developers with strong scientific foundations and disruptive concepts that have the potential to be applied to eye care.  

VisionX creates a structured pathway for early discovery, evaluation and potential advancement of novel technologies through funding from the Alcon Seed Fund.
